Because the deck is stripped, in an Americana game the hand rankings are different than those that are normally seen in a traditional poker game.  The lowest straight hand in an Americana game is a 10-9-8-7-Ace. The ace can give either a high or low card value.  The highest ranking hand in an Americana poker game is the Straight Flush. In cases where two players have a straight flush the individual whose suit has the highest value wins.
