European Poker Tour Copenhagen starts on tuesday

European Poker Tour (EPT) is the biggest poker tournament circuit in the whole word. Few years back World Poker Tour (WPT) used to be much bigger, but several thanks to it’s aggressive marketing strategy EPT is these days much bigger and attracts all the best poker players in the world to most if it’s events.

One EPT event that has been around for a long time is the EPT Copenhagen tournament and this year is no exception. The tournament will take place at the Casino Copenhagen which is the leading casino in Denmark. The tournament has a buyin of 37,500 DKK which equals around 5,000 euros. The maximum player capacity for this year’s event is 500 players and it remains to been seen if the event will be sold out as many of the previous EPT events.

Last year this same tournament was won by a young Finnish poker player Jens Kyllonen who took home the trophy and around 1million euros.

This year’s main event will take place between 16th and 21st of February.

Besides the main event there are also couple smaller no limit texas holdem freezout events with nice prize pools.

Before the tournaments there will also be Nordic Poker Awards. In Nordic Poker Awards there is 4 different categories and in each category there are 4 nominees during the prestigious ceremony the winner of each of these categories is declared and awarded accordingly.
