With everyone watching and following the big games over at Full Tilt Poker it is hard to forget that there is also some serious highstakes online poker action over at PokerStars. After all it is the world’s biggest online poker rooms so it would be surprising if they wouldn’t have at least some of the biggest games.
Lately it seems likely the highstakes action over at ‘Stars has been mostly happening at the pot limit omaha tables. And especially the $100/200 9 player tables have been in heavy use by several players such as LuckyGump and PokerStars pro JP Kelly. One other player who has also been extremely active in these games goes by the nick Gr8tBelisnki. The nick, which we can assume I supposed to be read as Great Belinski, comes from Austin (most likely Texas). The user behind this nickname is unclear and not least for the reason that in the past there has been lot of successful online poker players from the same city (not really all that surprising since the city has over 1million inhabitants).
Today Gr8tBelisnki was playing in two $100/$200 PLO tables and in one $200/$400 table. In the two $100/$200 he was at first playing against the pro JP Kelly (who has already near to $1million in live poker tournament winnings) and ilvdnfl (who uses picture of Phil Galfond as his icon at PokerStars).
And in the $200/$400 game he was playing headsup against JP Kelly.
After losing some money ilvdnfl decided he had had enough so for a while JP and Gr8t were playing headsup in three tables, but neither of the players managed to win anything significant.
Possibly encouraged by this Bebop86 (who is believed to be poker pro David Benefield) joined both of the $100/$200 tables with a $4,000 minimum buyin
And at least this time his shot paid off as Gr8tbelinski ended up doubling up him. Otherwise the session was pretty eventful, but if these players continue playing these games it is only a matter of time before we will see some real fireworks. So if you have some time to kill and enjoy watching the high stakes online poker games it might be good idea to download the Stars client and see if these games are playing.
