Switch Poker and Bet24 Release Smart Phone Poker Applications!

Switch Poker has gotten on board with the Android market and has recently launched a new application for smart phones. The new app enables players to play multi-table poker for real money via their mobile devices. In November, Switch Poker allowed online players to use a virtual currency known as Bitcoin, but has now developed a flash-free Android application that can be used with Android operation systems that are rated 1.6 and higher. This enables players to open an account, deposit money and play their favourite poker games from just about anywhere.

Conor McCarthy, who developed and owns Switch Poker, released a statement which said his company was the first to release a poker application for iPhones and introduced the Bitcoin system. He added that Switch Poker now becomes the first online poker site to enable players to do everything they need regarding their account on an Android device. He also said his company will continue to give mobile poker players what they want by continuing to develop new innovations. The newly-released app features a multi-table option that enables players to “swipe” between the poker tables.

Another online gaming site to release an Android app for playing poker on smart phones is Bet24, which is a part of the Ongame network. The company released a statement which said their service is only available at the moment for online players in Austria and Great Britain. However, it will also be offered to residents in Denmark early in 2012 following new Danish gaming legislation on January 1st.

Lars Kollind, the poker manager of Bet24, said the company is positive that the future of the online gaming industry lies in the mobile platform. He added that Bet24 is thrilled to offer apps for both iPhone and Android devices and is sure that his site’s players will be impressed with them.

David Pittel, who’s the managing director at Ongame, added that allowing poker players to enjoy the games from anywhere they travel to now opens up endless possibilities for them. He also said mobile poker is definitely the way of the future and Ongame is looking forward to more of its partners releasing apps in the future. Those who use iPhone devices can get the app from the Apple app shop, but users of Android devices will have to get their apps directly from the Bet24 site to download it.
