Premier League betting for 17-18 December 2011

December 15, 2011

Ok, so these are the best games of this weekends Premier League, let’s build on our bankroll!

Premier League Saturday 17th December

Everton v Norwich

Everton continue to struggle in front of goal and are in desperate need of a goalscorer. David Moyes has admitted he will be hoping to be successful in the January transfer window but, in the meantime, they have to negotiate the busy Christmas fixture list. Norwich continue to be a revelation and stunned Newcastle 4-2 last weekend. They will fancy their chances of coming away with all three points in this evenly matched mid-table clash. Norwich look over-priced at 5-1 to grab a victory here and you can get as high as 20-1 about them winning 2-1.

Wigan v Chelsea

Chelsea have been impressive in defeating Newcastle, Valencia and Manchester City and have hauled themselves back into contention at the top of the Premiership. They now travel to struggling Wigan who have picked up two away wins either side of a crushing 4-0 defeat against Arsenal. A few weeks ago Wigan may have seen this as an opportunity to grab a point from an out-of-sorts Blues but things are now looking a little different.

Daniel Sturridge has been in superb form for Chelsea and is a fair price at 9-2 to break the deadlock here. Paddy Power are offering a top price of 13-1 about a 3-1 win for the Blues and it could be worth taking a little of the 5-2 about Kalou to score at anytime.

Also; Blackburn v West Brom, Fulham v Bolton, Newcastle v Swansea, Wolves v Stoke

Sunday 18th December

QPR v Manchester United

QPR have had to work hard for their points this season and will need to produce something extraordinary to topple Manchester United. United will be eager to make the most of their opportunity to leapfrog neighbour’s City who kick-off later in the afternoon. It’s difficult to see any other result than a United victory here and a 3-0 win for United is on offer at 9-1. Nani (tipped in this column) returned to form with two goals against Wolves last week and is 7-1 to open the scoring here.

Aston Villa v Liverpool

Villa grabbed a vital 2-1 win at Bolton last week which keeps them safely in mid-table. Liverpool still have aspirations for a Champions League spot and have been quite successful on their travels this season. Villa should prove strong enough to give Liverpool a difficult game and a draw looks likely at odds of 12-5. You can get 6-1 about a 1-1 scoreline.

Manchester City v Arsenal

City finally lost their unbeaten record at Chelsea in midweek and will be expecting another severe test of the title claims by a resurgent Arsenal side. Robin Van Persie continues to be in superb form and City must keep him quiet if they are to avoid consecutive league defeats. Arsenal look tempting at 9-2 to put pressure on Mancini’s side by grabbing a win here and goals look assured with so much firepower available to both sides. For the more adventurous, you can get 50-1 about a 3-2 win for Arsenal and Van Persie is 6-1 to unlock the City defence. The 13-8 offered by Bet365 for 3 or more goals looks a safer proposition.
