The Entraction Poker Network, which used to be called the 24h Network or the B2B Network, is currently the only poker network that offers games in the € denomination exclusively. There are a lot of negative reviews of Entraction out there, complaining about the simple software, dumbed down poker features like “extra thinking time,” and players complaining about tight and passive poker play. Until recently, Entraction was a publicly traded Swedish company. Recently, Entraction has delisted itself as a publicly traded company as part of the sale to IGT.
History
Entraction was established in 2000, making it a middle-aged poker product, not the youngest in the business and not the oldest. These days, Entraction Holdings is one of the world’s biggest and best suppliers of gaming products and services for online gaming ventures, well-reviewed in the industry and respected around the world. Entraction is now a fully-owned subsidiary of International Game Technology, better known as IGT.
Before forming the Entraction Poker Network, Entraction was called B2B and enjoyed a top ten status in the world of online poker. Once the network was formed (and renamed Entraction to separate the poker product from the B2B brand) it made quick work of other poker networks, absorbing both small and large poker sites, stealing sites from other networks, and hitting it big with brand identity through the roof.
Traffic
In just six months, from July of 2008 to January of 2009, the Entraction Network grew from a tiny average of 600 cash poker players during peak hours to more than 3,000. That 400% growth rate is unheard of in the poker industry, and turned the Entraction Network into a top 10 poker network.
These days, Entraction floats in and out of the top 10, thanks to increased competition from networks like Microgaming. At peak times, Entraction is the tenth most popular poker network, while it falls to the 11th or 12th most popular at off-peak traffic times.
What kind of players are on the Entraction network? It’s a mixed bag, though for the most part the play is extremely tight. These passive tight players are the perfect food for loose/aggressive players, but Entraction is not exactly what you’d call a “fishy” network. Loose/aggressive players can really clean up in the No Limit Texas holdem games, where most of Entraction’s customers play was too tight. Your best bet at Entraction is to bluff as much as you can.
Bonuses and Promotions
Entraction leaves the bonus program up to the individual skins on the network, and with more than 100 skins to choose from, you can take your pick of bonus offers. For example, the skin called 24HPoker offers a 100% first deposit bonus up to €1000, while another Entraction skin called Betsson offers up to $7,000 with a 500% bonus.
The biggest promotional program Entraction has going comes from its tournament schedule. Because there are so many skins on the Entraction Poker Network, the tournament schedule is loaded, and draws in a ton of new customers.
Plenty of tournaments with big guaranteed prizes are there for the winning, such as the €10,000 daily guaranteed, the €50,000 weekly guaranteed, and the huge €100,000 monthly guaranteed tourneys. Entraction offers play-ins for spots at big tournaments like WSOP, WPT and EPT, with qualifiers at different levels running 24/7.
Entraction is famous for their huge amount of Sit & Go tourneys, including regular and satellites for larger tourney events. As expected, freerolls take place on a daily basis only some of which cost players their VIP points. The play level is tight, of course, so tournament wins are not as easy to come by as at Entraction’s competition. If you’re looking for lots of tourneys at all different levels, Entraction has them.
Features
The software at Entraction is notoriously simple, almost like a video game version of poker. Players report that Entraction’s games tend to run smoothly, after a year or two of lots of negative reviews including complaints about bugs and lag.
In our experience, the time required to sit through the flop, turn, and river is noticeably slower than at other poker networks.
As with all poker networks, the graphical layout of the skins is pretty much the same, but you’ll notice lots of variation among colors and design style. Entraction also allows their member skins to use eight-player tables and even 10 player tables for certain games—this is to increase the action per game.
Gimmicks include extra thinking time (on what Entraction calls “big pots,” no definition provided), the usual set of poker statistics, the ability to keep player notes, and a player search feature that you can now find pretty much anywhere on any poker network.
